The high living costs after Covid-19, especially in clothing and merchandise, have forced a lot of people to buy second-hand goods to make ends meet. Years before, buying second-hand goods was seen as unreasonable. Why would you want to pay for something that has already been used by a stranger? But now, it is a hot new thing that youths and adults are doing. As people become more environmentally conscious, they realise that handing over clothes is a solution to reducing fashion waste and helping the disadvantaged.
Passing down clothes is not a new thing, and a person can then buy that item for half the price. Mrs. Bảo Trân shared that today’s youth liked to buy expensive clothes to show off in a couple of pictures, then they would sell them back to the store. She had even almost quit buying new clothes because she can just buy almost unused clothes in a store that sells them at a 90% discount or even less. Not only is this practice good for the wallet, but it is also fantastic for the environment. As 92 million tonnes of textile waste is produced every year, the fashion industry is throwing away more clothes than ever before.
Besides taking care of the waste, giving away or buying second-hand clothes also helps the needy who are struggling to survive during cold winters or to afford basic needs. Starting as a Facebook page for selling second-hand clothes, an organisation now sells old clothing for charity money. Volunteers can either donate their used fashion items to the shop to give to the poor or give them to the shop as free apparel. The only requirement is that the clothes should be in good condition.

The Future of ‘Travel’?
Most of us make our own little journeys every day – whether it’s commuting to work, catching up with friends, or rushing to the shops. [I] These daily travels may be necessary, but they often lack the thrill of adventure. [II] In theory, traveling is a wonderful escape. [III] In practice, however, it can come with its fair share of headaches. [IV]
Cost is one major roadblock. Vacations can be costly, especially for families with kids. Time is another problem. In our fast-paced lives, finding time for a getaway can feel like a luxury few can afford. And let’s not forget the paradox of vacations—what’s meant to be a break can turn into a nightmare, with lost luggage, unfamiliar cuisine, large crowds, noisy hotel neighbors, or uncomfortable aircraft seats.
On account of these problems, staycations have taken off in a big way. These are vacations in which you stay at home. During a staycation, people will often explore nearby attractions. And because people do not have to fly to a distant destination or stay in a hotel, staycations cost less than vacations. But even visiting tourist sites and dining out can still be expensive.
Some people overcome this by choosing to be ‘armchair travelers’. This approach allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds—immersing yourself in books or documentaries about far-off places without the financial strain. Still, watching a travel show or reading about exotic destinations is a poor alternative to actuallty going there.
Virtual reality may offer a high-tech way to ‘see’ the world. A ‘traveler’ puts on a VR headset and the software takes them on a ‘journey’ to foreign lands, taking in the sights and sounds as if they were really there. VR travel is not a perfect solution, either. Studies show that having real experiences is crucial for our happiness. Nonetheless, as technology continues to advance, who knows what the future holds? Perhaps soon we’ll be ‘exploring’ the moon or even Mars, all from the comfort of our own homes!

Which of the following best summarises the passage?
