Employee Performance Review
Employee Name: Susan Reid
Position: Senior Marketing Executive
Review Period: 1st January – 31st December
Manager: David Chen
Overall Summary:
Susan has had an excellent year and has proven to be a highly valuable member of the marketing team. She has consistently met and often exceeded her performance objectives. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic have had a great influence on the entire department.
Strengths:
1. Project Management: Susan successfully managed the “Spring Forward” campaign, which exceeded its sales targets by 15%. Her planning and organisational skills were exceptional throughout the project. She has shown great initiative by identifying potential problems early and finding effective solutions.
2. Teamwork and Communication: Susan is a fantastic team player. She communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues and is always willing to offer support and share her knowledge. The positive feedback we have received from junior team members shows that she is a respected and helpful mentor. She is a true asset to the team.
Areas for Development:
1. Delegation of Tasks: While Susan’s commitment to high standards is a strength, she sometimes takes on too much work herself instead of delegating tasks to junior staff. If she learned to delegate more effectively, it would not only reduce her own workload but also help other team members to develop their skills. We recommend she attend the company’s “Effective Leadership” training course next quarter.
2. Presentation Skills: Susan is excellent in small group discussions, but she has reported feeling nervous during larger, more formal presentations to senior management. To build her confidence in this area, we suggest she co-present with a senior colleague at the next quarterly meeting. Practice and positive feedback should help her to improve.
Employee Comments:
“I have really enjoyed this past year. I agree with the feedback and I would be very interested in the leadership training course. Thank you for the positive review.” - Susan Reid
Manager’s Final Comments:
Overall, Susan’s performance has been outstanding. She is a key part of our team’s success, and we are confident that she will continue to grow and develop within the company. If she can improve her delegation and presentation skills, she will be an excellent candidate for a Team Leader position in the future. We have recommended a 5% salary increase in recognition of her hard work and achievements this year.

Questions 6-10. Read the following letter of application and decide whether the statements are True, False or Not Given.
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to apply for the position of Accounting Assistant, as advertised.
I am interested in this job because I am currently looking for an opportunity to use the skills I learnt in my college. I have recently completed a 16-week part-time accounting course (AAT Level 2 Certificate). The course covered book-keeping, recording income and receipts, and basic costing. We used a wide range of computer packages, and I picked up the accounting skills easily. I was able to work alone with very little extra help. I passed the course with merit. I believe my success was due to my thorough work, my numeracy skills and my attention to detail. During the course, I had experience of working to deadlines and working under pressure. Although this was sometimes stressful, I always completed my work on time.
Unfortunately, the course did not include a work placement, so I have not practised my skills in a business setting, and I am now looking for an opportunity to do so. I am particularly looking for a job in a small company such as yours, as I believe I will be able to interact with a wider range of people, and as a result, learn more skills. I would like to progress within a company and gain more responsibilities over the years.
Although I do not have work experience in finance, I have experience in working in an office environment. Before starting the accounting course, I worked for 6 months in a recruitment office as a receptionist. My duties involved meeting and greeting clients and visitors, taking phone calls, audio and copy typing and checking stock. I also had to keep the petty cash and mail records. Through this work, I developed my verbal and written communication skills. I had to speak confidently to strangers and deliver clear messages. I enjoyed working in a team environment. I believe the office appreciated my friendly manner and efficient work.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my application further and to demonstrate how my skills and enthusiasm could benefit your company. Thank you for considering my application.
Yours faithfully,
Peter Anderson
