People often talk about English as an international language. But why English? In the

past, the British Empire spread English through trade because British merchants bought and

international trade, industry, finance and entertainment.

Although the USA has the largest number of English speakers in the world, English isn’t an

Two other countries which use English as the main language are the Republic of Ireland and South Africa.

Since English is popular all around the world, speaking English is something you
