THE FUTURE WORLD OF WORK
Since the development of the Internet, humans have slowly moved the world of work more inside. In the past, many people used to work outdoors and in factories. Nowadays, lots of people work in schools, shops and offices. The big question is “What will the world of work look like in the future?”
To begin with, there will probably be floating offices as there will be less room for new buildings on land. Secondly, more people will definitely work from home. For example, people will work online, so this will result in more job opportunities for those who want to live in their own country and work abroad. For those that work in offices, the journey to work will be different. There will be fewer cars on the road and more fast means of public transportation. Self-driving vehicles will be electric, so there will be less air pollution from fossil fuels.
Robots will play a bigger role than they have done so far. Already, we have robots in factories. However, in the future, many traditional jobs may disappear. For instance, postmen will not have to deliver large packages as drones will fly them to their destinations. However, the good news is that there will be new jobs, such as drone technicians and skybridge engineers.
For those who keep their jobs, the future might look bright. These changes will mean more free time. Perhaps in the future, there will be a 4-day or even a 3-day working week for the same salary levels. In the far future, there may come a time when we don’t have to work at all. If so, what will we do then?
Fewer people will work in offices.
