At the same time, consumers need to be better informed through awareness campaigns so they know how to protect themselves against fraudsters and scammers. Businesses also play a key role by ensuring they sell safe and reliable products. Last but not least, functional agencies need to step up inspections and crack down on those involved in selling or promoting counterfeit goods, while improving policies to safeguard consumer rights more effectively.
